The spring market is looming. February saw new listings up 16%, sales up 12.5% (compared to 9% in January) and sale prices up 4.9%.
Other stats not pictured for February 2024:
- Of the 491 residential listings added in February, just 175 (~36%) of them were in the Halifax-Dartmouth region
- Of the 644 residential properties sold in February:
- 331 (~51%) were in the Halfax-Dartmouth region
- 78 (~12%) were in the Annapolis Valley
- 52 (~8%) were on the South Shore
- 22 (~3%) were in Yarmouth
- 97 (~15%) were in the Northern Region (compared to 85 in January 2023, we are seeing this region’s activity increase)
- 21 (~3%) were in the Highland Region, compared to 11% in January
- 43 (~7%) were on Cape Breton
- the average number of days it took a home to sell was 49 (compared to 55 in January)
- homes sold pretty close to listing price
- 123 vacant lots were sold
- 1 farm property sold
